Frequently Asked Questions

  • Undergraduate and International students may work up to 20 hours per week during Fall and Winter semesters.

    Important: If an international student works more hours than permitted by their visa regulations, it may jeopardize their immigration status and could affect their ability to remain employed, continue their studies, or stay in the United States. Always ensure your work hours remain within approved limits.

    During Spring and Summer semesters with manager's approval, a non-international student can work up to 40 hours.

    All part time employees need to ensure that their ACA average is below 28 hours by the end of their measurement period. For more information on that, click here.

  • You will be paid every two weeks. Click here for a copy of the payroll schedule.

  • In your Workday profile page then on the left menu choose pay and then pay-slips.

  • The I-9 form is a federal employment eligibility verification form that employers are required to complete for all employees. It verifies your identity and confirms that you are authorized to work in the United States.

  • Yes, as long as total hours remain within student employment limits. If you work an hourly job, you cannot accept a job that is on contract.

  • As long as your current I-9 is still valid and you have not had a break in employment that requires reverification, BYU can use the existing I-9 for your additional job.
